Payroll day should be predictable. This update to Payroll & Compliance makes pay runs faster, catches problems before they reach employees, explains errors in plain language, and makes payslip generation more reliable.
What's improved
Faster processing
Payroll runs now process more quickly, so HR and finance teams spend less time waiting for calculations to finish, especially when re-running payroll after a correction late in the cycle.
Better validation before you run
Qrew HR now checks payroll inputs more thoroughly before processing. Validation looks for common issues such as:
- Employees with missing bank details, PAN, or other details needed for payroll
- Attendance or leave records that are still pending approval
- Salary structures that do not add up to the stated CTC
- Employees who joined or left during the month without the correct dates
- Missing statutory details needed for PF, ESI, Professional Tax, or TDS calculations
You see these issues as a list before you run payroll, so you can fix them first instead of after payslips have gone out.
Clearer error handling
When something does need attention, error messages now explain what is wrong, which employee is affected, and what to do next. Instead of a generic failure, you see a specific, actionable message, such as a missing bank account for a named employee.
More reliable payslip generation
Payslips are generated more consistently once payroll is finalised, and employees can access them from the web and mobile app as soon as they are published.
How to use it
- Open Payroll and start the pay run for the month.
- Review the validation list. Fix each flagged item, or mark it as reviewed if no change is needed.
- Run payroll and review the summary of gross pay, deductions, and net pay.
- Resolve any errors using the guidance shown against each employee.
- Finalise payroll and publish payslips to employees.
Why it matters
- Fewer corrections: issues are caught before salaries are processed.
- Less time on payroll day: faster runs and clearer errors mean fewer delays.
- Better employee trust: reliable, on-time payslips reduce questions to HR.
