Getting Started with Qrew HR

Learn the basics and get started with Qrew HR, from signing in to inviting your team and setting up your first policies.

This article walks you through your first session in Qrew HR. By the end, you will have signed in, filled in your organization details, added your first employees, and invited your team. Most small teams finish these steps in a single sitting.

If you want a more detailed checklist for configuring every module, read the Setup Guide after this one.

Before you begin

  • A work email address you can access (this becomes the primary admin account).
  • Your company's legal name, address, and the locations where people work.
  • A list of employees with names, work emails, departments, and joining dates. A spreadsheet is fine.

Step 1: Sign in to Qrew HR

  1. Go to app.qrewhr.com/login.
  2. If you are new, start a free trial from the Pricing page. The trial runs for 14 days and does not need a credit card.
  3. Sign in with the email and password you created. You land on the Dashboard.

Step 2: Add your organization details

  1. Open Settings → Organization Profile.
  2. Enter your company name, registered address, and time zone (most Indian teams use IST).
  3. Add your work locations and departments. These are used later for attendance rules, holiday calendars, and reports.
  4. Click Save.

Step 3: Add employees

You can add employees one at a time or in bulk.

  1. To add one person, go to Employees → Add Employee and fill in their profile.
  2. To add many people at once, use Employees → Import with a CSV or Excel file. See Import Employees for the column format.
  3. Set each person's reporting manager so leave and attendance approvals route correctly.

Step 4: Set up the basics for attendance and leave

  1. Under Attendance → Shifts, create at least one shift (for example, 9:30 AM–6:30 PM with a 15-minute grace period).
  2. Under Leave → Policies, add your leave types such as Casual Leave, Sick Leave, and Earned Leave.
  3. Under Leave → Holiday Calendar, add this year's company holidays.

Step 5: Invite your team

  1. Go to Employees, select the people you want to invite, and choose Send Invite.
  2. Each employee receives an email to set a password and sign in on the web or the mobile app.
  3. Assign admin or manager roles where needed in Settings → Roles & Permissions.
Tip: Invite two or three people first, ask them to check in and apply for a test leave, and fix any rule that looks wrong before inviting the whole company.

What to do next

  • Configure payroll and statutory settings if you plan to run salaries in Qrew HR.
  • Set up goals and review cycles in Performance Management.
  • Ask employees to install the mobile app for check-ins and leave requests on the go.

Common questions

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. The 14-day free trial does not ask for card details. You choose a plan only when you decide to continue.

Can more than one person set up the account?

Yes. Once you are signed in, give a colleague an admin role from Settings → Roles & Permissions and they can help with setup.

Can I change settings after employees start using Qrew HR?

Yes. Shifts, leave policies, and roles can all be edited later. Changes apply from the date you save them, so past records stay as they were.

I didn't receive the sign-up email. What should I do?

Check your spam or promotions folder first. If it is not there, write to support with the email address you used and we will help.
